We had a great snowfall Jan 10-11 laying down an additional two feet of powder on the upper mountain. Guests were super fired up and enjoyed great skiing for a week before the wind began blowing and affected snow surfaces negatively for powder skiing. Fortunately the sun has been shining since then and guests have been enjoying long tours to Downing Mountain and bowl bouncing back to the lodge.
12-21-12 Solstice Snow and Ski Report
During the past week, we have received 6-8 inches at the lodge and 2 feet on the upper mountain above 6,500′ elevation. The runout gully is filling in nicely and the skiing was superb on tuesday and wednesday. Thursday brought some more showers and some southwest wind developing some cornices and drifts in isolated locations. The burned glades are coming into their own with many new lines and options for returning to the lower elevations both skiers left and right of the main exit gully.
